Therapy for adults,

EMDR

&

Clinical

supervision.

Welcome.

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Board-Approved Clinical Supervisor, and an EMDRIA Certified Therapist™.

If you are experiencing depression or anxiety, regaining control over your life can seem over-whelming and impossible, but you are not alone, I can help. Together we can stabilize your mental well-being, increase your self-regulation and ability to cope, decrease unwanted behaviors, and help you reestablish a sense of safety in the world. If you are in need of support, please call.

Whether you are starting therapy for the first time or returning after years, beginning can be a nerve-racking experience. Know that we will start slow and at your own pace. Safety and trust isn't something we give to others lightly, it is something that is earned, and you will find that I work hard to cultivate a feeling of safety in our relationship through thoughtful empathic listening and honest feedback.

Areas of Practice

Adults

I work with adults experiencing depression, anxiety, unhappy childhoods, unresolved trauma, sexual assault, relationship issues, and those looking to improve their level of happiness at work and home.

I also work with a large amount of UT students due to my location in West campus. I’ve enjoyed learning about and understanding the present struggles of university students in the demanding and competitive environment of academic life. If you’re a UT student feeling overwhelmed, stressed, depressed, and looking for support, please reach out.

Teens and adolescents

I welcome kids ages 15 and older to explore their inner feelings and expand their problem solving capabilities. We discuss peer relationships, self-esteem issues, anxiety, depression, family conflict, school issues, and anything else interfering with your adolescents and teens level of functioning.

female Survivors of sexual abuse and sexual ASSAULT

Approximately 1 in 5 American women will experience sexual assault throughout their lifetime. In my experience, shame, blame, and guilt, are 3 of the most common symptoms that remain long after the abuse ended. I see women who were sexually abused in their childhood and have never talked about it before, women who were assaulted by a close friend or relative, and survivors of all ages and backgrounds. There is no experience too terrible to tell; every single human is worthy of healing and self-love. No matter your experience or story, you will receive compassionate care in a judgment-free space. Healing is possible and achievable!

Parent consultation

Through the University of Texas and the Department of Family Protective Services, I conduct Behavior Intervention Trainings for foster and adoptive parents. My trainings focus on how to best manage behavioral challenges in kids that stem from experiencing trauma, abuse, and neglect. If your child does not have a trauma background but does display significant behavioral issues at home, please contact me for a parent consultation.

adult attachment issues

I specialize in attachment trauma which happens from years of toxic family dynamics, a childhood filled with physical or emotional neglect, abuse, or unhealthy parent-child relationships. As an adult, you may notice you have trouble making and keeping healthy relationships. This might be a result of your current attachment style. Together we can learn about your attachment style, how it developed, and how it’s impacting your current relationships. We will learn how to have and hold onto healthy, satisfying, platonic and romantic relationships.
