PRACTICE OWNER, THERAPIST, AND BOARD-APPROVED SUPERVISOR
Shelby Solomon Harter
I earned my graduate degree from The University of Texas at Austin. In 2016, I helped open Central Austin Psychotherapy alongside UT professor and psychotherapist Tammy Linseisen before opening my own practice in 2018. Through years of clinical practice, supervision, and advanced training, I have developed an approach that integrates trauma-informed care, attachment theory, and EMDR to help clients create meaningful and lasting change.
I am particularly passionate about helping adults who struggle with perfectionism, self-criticism, unresolved childhood experiences, recurring relationship patterns, and the emotional burdens that often accompany success and responsibility. Together, we work to better understand these patterns, strengthen self-awareness, and develop healthier ways of relating to yourself and others.
My approach is collaborative, direct, and compassionate. I believe therapy is most effective when it is tailored to the individual, grounded in trust, and focused not only on reducing distress but on creating a life that feels more authentic, connected, and fulfilling.
I grew up in Vermont where I learned a great appreciation for the outdoors. Now, I enjoy spending time outside with my husband, our two sons, and our 90lbs lap dog Juno. We love to swim, take long walks around town, and visit our family in Vermont and Oregon.
