PRACTICE OWNER, THERAPIST, AND BOARD-APPROVED SUPERVISOR

Shelby Solomon

I’ve been working with the Austin community since 2012. I began my career at Helping Hand Home for Children working to rehabilitate children who’d experienced extreme forms of abuse and neglect. I was trained in Trust-Based Relational Intervention (TBRI) which began my more focused interest in understanding how our bodies and brains respond to trauma. I returned to graduate school at UT Austin, and in the fall of 2016, helped open the private practice Central Austin Psychotherapy with UT professor Tammy Linseisen. I received clinical supervision from Tammy during this time and eventually opened my own private practice in the winter of 2018. I greatly enjoy working with adults who’ve had challenging childhoods, unresolved trauma, attachment issues, patterns of unhealthy relationships and are ready to begin their healing process.

I grew up in Vermont where I learned a great appreciation for the outdoors. Now, I enjoy spending time outside with my husband, our two sons, and our 90lbs lap dog Juno. We love to swim, take long walks around town, and visit our family in Vermont and Oregon.
