Lmsw and therapist
Molly Gorney is a Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) practicing under the supervision of Shelby Solomon Harter, LCSW-S. Before becoming a therapist, she spent 15 years as a registered nurse and later earned her Master of Social Work from the University of Texas at Arlington.
Molly’s approach is compassionate, curious, and grounded in the belief that healing comes from reconnecting with your own inner wisdom. She takes a trauma-informed, holistic approach that recognizes the connection between mind and body, incorporating somatic practices and evidence-based modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), and Solution-Focused Brief Therapy. She has also completed Level One Internal Family Systems (IFS) coaching training through the Institute for Healing and Awakening.
Molly works with clients navigating anxiety, depression, ADHD, disordered eating, infertility, religious trauma, and concerns around substance use. As someone in long-term recovery, she offers a particularly compassionate, nonjudgmental space for those exploring their relationship with alcohol or other substances.
Molly welcomes clients of all backgrounds, identities, and cultures and remains committed to her own ongoing anti-racism work. She especially enjoys supporting those who are curious about themselves, open to examining inherited beliefs, and seeking to live with greater authenticity and intention.
Outside the therapy room, Molly enjoys spending time with her husband and three children, practicing yoga, and getting cozy with a good book.
